Instructions
Talk about the All About Me Challenge badge and how helping others is a kind thing to do. Reiterate the promise they have all made,
Read the story of the Little Red Hen - talk about why it is important to help others.
Talk about parents at home and how they help us when we need it? What do they do to make our lives good? How kind are they to us? How could we help them and save them time. We are going to practice some things that we could do to be helpful at home. We are going to choose one of these or something different to do at home this week to be helpful. Squirrels are helpful! We will make a pledge we will sign and then our grown up at home can sign and say we have done it and we will bring it back next week.
Squirrels to be put into groups of 4/5 and then move around the activities,
1 Tidy away toys/ clothes
Have some toys scattered about and get the Squirrels to tidy them into a box. Also to put the clothes in a laundry basket.
2. Lay the Table
Explain how to properly lay a place setting: table mat, cutlery, side plate, cup, napkin. Ensure you have enough of everything for each Squirrel to have a practice.
3. Make a Drink
Pour some squash in a cup then add some water. Squirrels then sit down and enjoy the drink.
4. Wash and Dry
Provide a bowl of warm soapy water for Squirrels to wash their cup. Squirrels to dry their cup with a tea-towel.
