Description

An introduction into building survival shelters.
A precursor evening before a planned Survival camp, where the YP will compete to build the best patrol shelter.

Resources

rope, tarp(s), wooded area with permission to build dens.
Scouts can use penknifes if they have completed the knife section of the badge

Instructions

Details in the attachment. Essentially leaders go with patrols and work with them to build one of the 'natural' shelters listed.
Spare leaders or alternatively when the patrols have completed their builds, can show how to use the tarp for a quick shelters.
