Description

beavers are split into 2 groups. they are provided with half a bag of ice each and asked to make the best construction with the ice cubes.

bag of ice cubes- I allowed 1/2 bag per group
rough spot/ builders tray

Instructions

start of talking about what is in the bag, get them to describe what they see. guiding them in the direction of what they're made of, what shape they are, that they are shaped like house bricks. discussion about where ice is found, what and who we might find there leading to a discussion on eskimos/Inuit's, igloos etc.

The groups are then split and they are given half a bag of ice each and asked to discuss in teams and build an igloo.
