Kite flying
It is one outdoor activity that your Guide would love to indulge in and even learn.
Kite flying can be a fun activity for the whole Unit. Once your Guides know the
ins and outs of kite flying, you can even organize Patrol competitions.
Did you know that kite flying promotes eye stimulation? This is because tracking an object at a
long distance can help relax the eye by reducing strain.
Hiking
Select a picturesque trail for your hike and your Unit is likely to agree to go on
the trip with you. Hiking is also a great opportunity for your Guides to spend time
outdoors and learn to appreciate nature.
Star-gazing
You need not restrict your Guide’s outdoor activities to daytime. Spend some
quality time with your Unit just gazing at the stars, identifying the constellations
and learning their stories.
Dodgeball
A game that involves throwing balls at others and being the smart one by
dodging most hits.
Gardening
A bit mellow by your Guide’s standards, but it is worth a try.
Trivia: A nature-related activity like gardening teaches children to nurture a
living thing. As the plant grows, your Guide will feel a sense of accomplishment
that can boost their self-esteem.
Frisbee fun
This is an enjoyable activity and is relatively simple to carry out. All you need is
the space and the frisbee!
Walking
Encouraging your Guide to go for walks is a subtle way of initiating them into
fitness and exercise.
