Environmental Conservation escape room

Description
This evening is a fun way to teach them about insect species as well as recycling issues within their city (mine is Southampton). I at the time was working towards a plastic bottle greenhouse so some things are about that too but some of these things can be edited if necessary!
There are 3 challenges which they must complete in order to be allowed to escape/get a prize for finishing.
Each challenge completed will give them a clue as to where the prize is or perhaps where the exit is.
It's also a good idea to place hidden resources in their rooms if you can so they can search for them like you do in an escape room.
Resources
Identification guides (we used ones from Earthwatch Tiny Forest)
Bag/handbag with 3-digit padlock
Printouts of pics of types of insect species (butterfly, beetle, fly etc)
Pens
Challenges 1 and 3 printouts (see attached)
Rooms to do each challenge in
Instructions
Challenge 1: Please see attached. YPs must find the 3 digit code to the padlock which is the answer to the ultimate question (city can be changed). Each riddle correct answer grants them a digit to the padlock but not in necessarily in the right order (for Southampton, answer is 317 but first digit given may be 7 say). Inside other resources for different challenges may be added for instance.
Challenge 2: Species identification. Using the species guides, YPs must correctly give the 3 types of insect (we used pollinator (hoverfly) , ground dweller (wasp beetle?), butterfly (painted lady)) all together in order to pass.
Challenge 3: Please see attached. This is a set of quiz questions related to environmental issues. Answer to golden question is PLASTIC BOTTLES AND LIDS, spelled out with the pairs of letters in each answer if all answered correctly. Again some answers may be amended for relevance to city or event.
