Instructions
SWAPs “Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere” or simply “Shared With A Pal” are a Girl Guide tradition that Girl Guides make and swap/gift to other girls at events.
They are small crafts that Guides (and Leaders) wear on their camp hats or camp blanket. Most swaps will have the person’s name, Unit name and/or date of when and where the swap was made.
The girls can make 2-3 each if they have time.
1. Cut a rectangle of felt approx. 5-7 cm x 10-12 cm.
2. Cut two pieces of string.
3. Cut out a piece of card about 3 cm x 4 cm and punch a hole in it like a tag.
4. Roll up the felt and tie off in two places with the string as shown in the pictures.
5. Write your name, your unit name, and the date on the cardboard tag. You can include a nice message or a sticker if you want.
6. Link the cardboard tag and your SWAP with a safety pin. All done!
