Description
Wide game based on Snooker
Resources
I piece of card for every player.
A group of adults or Young Leaders (Balls)
Marker pens - Red (several), Yellow, Green, Brown, Blue, Pink and Black
A wide area, preferably with trees or cover of some description in the dark.
Instructions
The adults or YLs are the "balls". They go and hide in the playing area. When a Scout approaches them they place a mark on the Scout's card - assuming it is within the rules.
The Scouts go to find the balls. They need to find the "balls" in order, ie a red, then a colour, another red etc until all 15 reds have been collected then they need to collect the colours in order.
In practice they are unlikely to get 15 reds, so judgement is needed as to when to stop the game - normally after 20 minutes, but it could be the first to achieve x balls.
For added fun, the "balls" could roam. They could also swap a colour pen with another.
It may be that the "balls" have more than one colour on them.
Normal wide game risk mitigation - walking boots, dressed for the weather, have a torch, have a first aid kit...
Extra risks - the adults are lone and often in a public place after dark. How to mitigate against members of the public also in the park. Similar with Scouts especially how to stop them roaming outside the playing area and getting lost.
