Instructions
In order to have a Ladybird sleepover, a Leader who has an Indoor License must help to organise the sleepover and attend the full sleepover.
We are recommending for a sleepover for Ladybirds that your sleepover starts around 6pm and finishes at 10am/11am the following morning. However, Leaders will know their Units and what works best for them.
We also are recommending that your sleepover is made up of the older Ladybirds who are moving onto Brownies next year. Again, Leaders will know who is well suited for a sleepover.
In order for the Ladybirds to obtain the badge we have the following requirements which must be met:
• Know what’s needed for a sleepover (you can talk to the Ladybirds in the weeks before the sleepover and find out what they think they need for the sleepover)
• Pack an overnight bag using an agreed kit list. A suggested kit list is provided but you can adapt this to suit your unit.
• Help to prepare a meal or snack
• Make a craft. You could buy cloth bags and let the ladybirds design their own plate bag or a pillowcase for their pillow.
• Have a campfire session or story time or Guides Own
• Sleepover
Suggested Kitlist. You can adapt this to suit your Ladybirds and your location and add to it where necessary.
• Sleeping bag
• Plate bag/Bowl, Cup, Tea towel
• Pillow
• Pj’s & Fluffy Socks & Slippers
• Toothbrush & Toothpaste
• Change of clothes

Suggested Songs for Sleepover
Black Socks
Black socks they never get dirty
The longer you wear them the stronger they get
Sometimes I think I should wash them
But something keeps telling me no not yet, not yet, not yet
Fishy Wishy Song
Have you ever been a fishing on a bright summers day,
With all the little fishies swimming up and down the bay
With their hands in their pockets
and their pockets in their pants,
And all the little fishies do the fishy wishy dance.
Na-na-na-na-na, Na-na-na-na.
Na-na-na-na-na, Na-na-na-na.
Na-na-na-na-na, Na-na-na-na.
And all the little fishies do the fishy wishy dance.
The Moose (repeat each line)
There was a great big Moose
And he drank a lot of juice
There was a great big Moose
And he drank a lot of juice
Singing oh, oh oh oh oh
Way-oh way-oh way-oh way-oh
Waay-oh, way-oh way-oh way-oh way-oh
He drank his juice with care
But then he spilt in in his hair
He drank his juice in bed
But then he spilt it on his head
Now he’s a sticky Moose
On the loooooooooose
