Embossed String and Foil Logo Gift Tags

Description

Create gift tags using foil and string for an embossed look.

Resources

Paper, card, fleur de lis in circles template (see attachment) printed on card or paper, circles template printed on card, scissors, glue stick or pva glue, aluminium foil, cotton string, cotton bud, hole punch, any string/ribbon/thread for hanging.

Instructions

1) Cut out the circle with a fleur de lis on it
2) Cut out the blank backing circle and write your message on one side or leave it blank
3) Take your cotton string and cut it into lengths by measuring against the purple logo parts where you will stick it
4) Put glue onto the lines if the purple fleur de lis logo
5) Stick you pieces of string along the lines of glue
6) Add dots of glue to the rest of the logo
7) Tear a piece of aluminium foil big enough to cover the tag
8) Place on the tag, shiny side up and press down to firmly stick in place
9) Use the cotton bud to gently press either side of the string to give it a raised 'embossed' look
10) Rip off any excess foil around the outside of the circular tag, leaving a few millimetres spare to fold over to make neat edges.
11) Stick on the blank or written note to the other side of the tag to cover the folded edges of the foil
12) Use a hole punch to punch through the top of the tag, avoiding the string.
13) Cut a length of string/ribbon or other thread to pass through the hole and knot to create a loop for hanging your gift tag/decoration
