Encourage Scouts to learn about what the Chinese New Year is through fun facts and sampling Chinese food.

Instructions

Print off copies of https://www.learningresources.co.uk/blog/chinese-new-year-fun-facts/. Ask each patrol to read through the information and decide for themselves how they'd like to share two fun facts per Scout with the rest of the group. Ask each patrol in turn to share their facts with the group however they wish to. Encourage the patrols listening to ask questions.

Once all the facts have been shared, ask the Scouts to talk about whether they share any of the Chinese values and traditions discussed, if they're important to them and why.

Finish the session playing traditional Chinese games and eating Chinese food.
