Description
A testing of plants which are still ‘growing’: potted herbs, crews and tomatoes on the vine
Resources
Edible plants:
- mint (potted)
- Basil (potted)
- coriander (potted)
- cress
- tomatoes on the vine
Instructions
Wash hands
- there will be a display or plants that are still growing but are edible: cress, basil, mint, tomatoes on the vine
- the children are invited to smell and taste the leaves / tomatoes. (make sure they’ve been washed)
- talk about what they smell and taste like, if they’ve tried them before, if they know where they grown (the herbs in soil in pots or the ground or in greenhouses, indoor or outdoor) How tomato vines grow tall and grow outside as they need lots of sunlight
- what meals they might make with the ingredients
