Build a wall

To simulate the building that local builders do in the African towns to build schools etc.

Similar to what the Scouts/Explorers will be doing in Malawi.

Resources

large Jenga set - play a relay game

Instructions

Split colony into teams or lodges

Place Jenga box in centre. When a leader says go a team members collects 1 Jenga piece (brick) and takes it back to their team before next member goes.

The Jenga pieces are piled up in alternating layers of three - building a tower or wall.

The game finishes when box is empty. The winning lodge is the lodge with the most layers.

You could then......

Play again in reverse - first make sure all lodges have an equal number then members return pieces to box - one at a time. First team to clear their lodge and sit in a line wins. Usually play at least 2 rounds.
