Description

Make foamy lemons as a science experiment (acid reacts with alkali)

Resources

Pan or tray
Lemons
Cutting knife
Spoons/lollypop sticks
Bicarbonate of soda
Food coloring
Washing up liquid

Instructions

Have an adult slice a lemon in half and cut the ends off so it stands up straight

Use a spoon/lollypop stick to break up and scoop out a little bit of the inside of the lemon

Add a few drops of food colouring (add a drop of washing up liquid at this stage if using)

Pour some bicarbonate of soda into the lemon and watch it foam (can use the lollypop stick to agitate it a bit if needed)
