Creating Fossils out of salt dough

Resources

4 cups of all purpose flour
1 cup of salt
1.5 cups of water
(use the same cup measurement for all 3 ingredients ie plastic cup)
Mixing bowl
Plastic dinosaurs
Ammonites (optional)
Circle biscuit cutters

Have a discussion about fossils and dinosaurs

Instructions

Combine all the ingredients (flour, salt, warm water) and mix well until it starts to form a dough.
Knead the dough
Roll out the dough
Use the biscuit cutters to make the shapes
Push the dinosaurs or ammonites into the dough to make imprint
Place on a tray or surface by the child's name
Bake in the oven for 1-2 hours at low heat or leave overnight to dry.
