Description

This is an activity write up to accompany the annual Woking District Lightweight Competition (DLC). The DLC is for the Scouts section and takes place in March each year, usually in the Surrey Hills. It is arranged by the District Scouts team.

Teams of 4-6 Scouts compete over the weekend. Training teams are also able to participate with adult support.

This activity writeup is not an official "District" document, it just sharing how one Troop approaches this event. The District permission form process will still need to be completed by all participants.

Full leader briefing packs are prepared by the (long suffering) District team, so are not repeated here

Each participating Troop is usually required to provide 1 x adult supporter per team they enter.

Instructions

Take care with assigning badge credit:
- this activity entry shows all possible badge credits you might assign to the team leader/most engaged Scouts. It will rarely be appropriate to assign all badge credits to all participants. Use your discretion, with particular care around badge credit assigned for shadowed/highly supported training teams.
-you will need to MANUALLY add the staged 'hikes' and 'nights away' credits by adding a new column in the records for that badge, and adding the badge credit to your OSM event
