register and pens

Instructions

Arrange enough markers to accommodate attendees to make a circle big enough to allow some arm movement between placements.

Leader stands at the top of the circle facing door where Beavers arrive through/register.
(If themed evening, leader can hold a prop relating to the evening’s theme eg paralympics hold a model flame torch; animal theme hold a toy animal representing the specific animal theme eg hedgehog for evening relating to their plight)

As beavers enter, leader does a beaver tail slap (clap or slap own bottom) or a joey foot stomp and says “ How do you do. Please join in my Log Chew”, or something similar.

Beavers stand behind a marker in the circle and may greet each other/ talk about their day
until the next beavers arrive.

All do tail slap and say How do you do, please join in our log chew.

Repeat each time beavers arrive until all are in attendance and the doors closed.

Do one last loud tail slap together and sit.

Talk about the evening’s topic (harvest, health and safety, sport, disability definition, identification of trees, history of building/famous person)

Explain next event/activity rules.
