Base 1 - Archery
Equipment
Soft archery sets - ideally 1 per person in each team, but could swap if not enough
3 soft arrows per set
Make a burger sheets - 1 per person + spares (or spare paper)

Activity
Safety briefing
Shooting area and line - don’t shoot if anyone is in front of the shooting line
Arrows always pointing down range, never at anyone
Don’t release the string if it’s not loaded (damage to bow)
Gently release the tension on the string and lower bow if told to stop

How to load and shoot
Load arrows from the side facing you - you should be able to load the arrow while holding the handle
3 fingers below the arrow (Scout sign)
Bow arm straight
Pull string so fingertip touches corner of mouth
Gently roll fingers off string towards ear

Go for gold - aim for the yellow
Move shooting line closer if necessary

Make a burger - Use the paper to write your ingredients
10 - Cheese
9 - Ketchup
8 - Salad
7 - Patty
6 - Piece of bun (need 2 of these)
Outer edge - Jalapeno
Miss - Nothing



Base 2 - Listen
Equipment

Listen to some music
What do you like about it?
What don’t you like?
How could it be improved?
- Faster?
- Louder?
- Change the instruments?
Repeat the rhythm (clapping/feet stomp/”la la la”)

Play a short game as this base may not run for 20 mins.

Own instruments and song sheet (if available)

Activity
Play your own instrument OR pick items to make a noise
Why those items/that instrument?
Play a tune to the others - something they might recognise would be good (they can try and guess)
Can others copy/join in?
- Provide a beat
- Read off the same sheet (if they have an instrument)
