Build lego vehicles and test them.

Resources

Lots of lego (make sure there are at least 4 wheels per team)
Camera
Drain pipe
Tables
Bouncy balls (2 per team)

Instructions

Split into teams
(Number of teams depends on the number of wheels you have in you lego stash)


Building - 15 mins
Vehicles must fit in the guttering
Vehicles must fit a driver (1 bouncy ball)
Must be open top (no roof)


Design competition
Blind judging of vehicles - one leader needs to be out of the room while the YPs build their vehicles.

Which design is liked more just based on appearance.
YPs then explain features, and the judge decides which special feature(s) they like best.


Trials
Can they hold the driver in?
10 mins - Modifications allowed until they do.

Which rolls further after exiting the guttering?
Crash - extinguish fire with what? Powder

Can they hold a passenger (second bouncy ball)?
Modifications allowed until they do.

Does passenger stay in while going down guttering?
If they fly out? Why might this happen if these were real cars? No seatbelt
