Description
Woking District Scouts' Young People are always welcome to join the Last Post ceremony at Brookwood Cemetery on the first Sunday of each month.
We are particularly welcomed in November each year, when a parade is arranged, with refreshments to follow. Leaders will need to attend to manage their YP, even if parents are also attending.
For more information, contact the District Scouts team. (Please note - this is not an 'official' District Scouts document - just some info shared by one of the Troops in the District)

Example Parent Portal Wording - adapt to your own Group's needs as necessary:
We will be meeting at Brookwood Cemetery at 14:15 near the station car park entrance. Park at Brookwood Station Car Park and walking through the tunnel to the Cemetery.
The Brookwood Last Post Association meets on the first Sunday of the month in front of the RAF Memorial. A short service is held, with a parade of Standards to honour the fallen in the two World Wars and the many engagements since. Everyone is welcomed.

Event details:
To continue Woking District Scouts' connection with the Brookwood Last Post Association, we would like to invite you and your Beavers/Cubs/Scouts to attend this November's Last Post Ceremony at Brookwood Military Cemetery on [Sunday 3rd November 2024].
As with the previous years, all Beavers/Cubs/Scouts need to arrive in full smart uniform with Poppy and gather on the cemetery side of Brookwood Rail station by 14:15, where we will form into our Groups to receive parade instruction and then parade down to the RAF memorial in preparation for the ceremony starting precisely at 15:00.
On the conclusion of the ceremony (around 15:20 hrs) everyone is invited to join us for light refreshments at the ‘Trench Experience’ situated behind the RAF memorial.
On Sundays, there is ample (now chargeable) parking at Brookwood Railway Station or (more limited) free parking within the cemetery. All are welcome, including family members, to stay for this moving ceremony.
