Description

Children use trail symbols to follow a mystery trail. Alternatively, with 2 teams, have one team lay a trail while the other is kept away. Have the other team follow the trail, then switch the teams around.

Resources

Trail symbol sheet, sticks and stones (or lolly sticks if indoors).

Instructions

Lay a trail in advance, and give the Beavers the sheet explaining the different trail/tracking signs.
This could be done indoors, around your Beaver meeting place, using Lolly Sticks. These can be snapped into smaller pieces or put together to make longer lengths to make different signs.
Or if in teams, give the info sheet to both/all teams. Have one lay a trail first, while the other waits in a different area. Then have the other team try to follow the trail. Swap around, make different trails, etc.
