Check for kiwi allergy, one time we did have a beaver with the allergy and used cucumber instead.
Instructions
Name the paper plate around the rim before starting as the juice from the fruit makes it difficult to annotate afterwards.
It needs to be on the top of the plate and not the bottom as the fruit slides off when trying to look underneath to take them home.
Give each Beaver an easy peel orange and get them to peel it and break into segments. They then arrange them at the bottom of the plate curved side up to make a dome effect. 2 layers is enough, they can eat any left overs.
Get the Beavers to cut the banana in half horizontally. Each Beaver then peels their half of the banana and slices it vertically into 2 halves. Beavers then place their palm tee trunks on to the plate flat side down in line with the top layer of small orange segments. If the bananas are too big to fit on the plate get them to slice off the bottom until it does. They can eat this.
Help the Beavers cut the kiwi fruit into 5 discs or do this in advance for them. The Beavers then cut the kiwi discs in half. Discard the ends of the fruit.
It is easier to slice the kiwi with the skin on. They can eat the flesh and leave the skin.
Beavers then arrange the kiwi around the top of the banana to look like the fronds of a palm tree, 5 fronds per banana works.
Looks great on the background of the blue paper plate.
