Instructions

Number of Players:

At least 6 scouts, but the game can accommodate more.

One scout starts in the middle as the "catcher," while the rest are "runners."

Game Setup:

All scouts are divided into two groups:

Catchers (Taggers): One scout starts as the catcher in the middle of the playing area.

Runners: The remaining scouts start on one side of the playing area.

Set up a playing area with two sides: one for the runners and one for the catchers.

Game Play:

Selection: A catcher in the middle selects one runner and asks them to choose between being a "Hero" or a "Chicken."

Hero: If the runner chooses “Hero,” they must run to the other side alone, without being tagged by the catcher(s).

Chicken: If the runner chooses “Chicken,” all the catchers run together to the opposite side of the playing area. They must work together to avoid being tagged.

Running and Tagging:

If the runner chose “Hero” and reaches the other side without being tagged, they are safe.

If the runner chose “Chicken,” the catchers must try to tag them before they reach the other side. If a catcher tags anyone, they immediately stop running.

If a runner is tagged, they must freeze or return to the middle to become a catcher.

Role Changes:

Once a runner is tagged by a catcher, that tagged scout becomes a new catcher and takes the position of tagging others in the next round.

If a catcher successfully tags a “Hero,” that runner becomes a catcher, and the game continues.

Winning the Game:

The game continues until there is one scout left untagged. This scout is declared the winner and can be crowned “Hero of the Game.”

Repeat: Continue with new rounds until all scouts are tagged or a predetermined number of rounds have been completed.

Notes:

To ensure fairness, you may rotate who the catchers are after each round.

The game can be played as a fun, casual game or can be competitive depending on your group!
