A relay race to clean up waterways

Resources

Ropes/cones
Pretend pollution - plastic cups, paper balls, string, wrappers
Container to represent bins

Instructions

Set up a 'canal' (a line marked out with rope or cones).
Scatter pretend 'pollution' (plastic cups, paper balls, string, wrappers).
Split Beavers into teams.
Relay race - one Beaver from each team goes to pick up 'pollution' safely (no running near water!), return and put it in a bin. If someone runs, they have to put the rubbish down and return empty handed.
First team to clear their canal wins.
