Description
Cubs / Beavers will explore the outdoors to search for mini-beasts, learning about their environmental roles while practicing safe handling.
Resources
- Mini-beast containers or jars
- Magnifying glasses (if available)
- Identification cards / books
Instructions
1. Gather Cubs / beavers and explain what mini-beasts are and why they are important for the environment.
2. Distribute mini-beast containers (or jars) for Cub / beavers to collect specimens.
3. Set clear boundaries for where Cubs / beavers can search and ensure adult supervision in smaller groups.
4. Instruct Cubs / Beavers to gently lift logs, rocks, or other debris to search for mini-beasts, reminding them to put everything back as they found it.
5. After a set time, reconvene to discuss what they found; encourage Cubs / beavers to share their experiences and observations.
