Create a mini volcano and watch it erupt using common kitchen ingredients!


Resources

- Baking soda
- Vinegar
- Food colouring (optional)
- Plastic cups
- Tray
- Paper towels for spills

Instructions

1. Gather all necessary materials (baking soda, vinegar, food colouring, and a container such as a plastic cup).
2. Place the plastic cup on a tray to catch any overflow.
3. Add 2 tablespoons of baking soda into the cup.
4. If desired, add a few drops of food colouring to the baking soda.
5. Slowly pour vinegar into the cup and watch the eruption!
6. Discuss the chemical reaction that occurs between baking soda (a base) and vinegar (an acid).
