Reuse, Donate, Recycle

Description
A game that focuses on waste reduction. Helping us to decide what to recycle, what to reuse or donate.
Resources
- An assortment of recyclable materials (clean plastic bottles, cardboard, etc.) and 'things'. Examples can be things leaders have around their house that are clean and safe, e.g. a teddy bear, a pair of outgrown wellies, an unwanted gift.
Instructions
1. Prepare a selection of recyclable, reusable and/or donatable items (clean and safe).
2. Gather Beavers in a horseshoe and place items in a sack in the centre along with three boxes
3. Retrieve an item from the sack, and ask whether to recycle, reuse or donate - Beavers could vote, or hands up to discuss reasons why before placing in one of the three boxes
4. Talk about how different people might choose different answers. For example, a pair of outgrown trousers, in good condition could be donated to a charity shop, but if a Beaver has a younger sibling they could be reused. However, if the trousers are not in good enough condition, they could be recycled into something new.
