Running around in a circle based on the colours of the rainbow

Resources

Scraps of paper in 3 or 4 of the 7 colours of the rainbow.
A chair for each girl (not essential).

Instructions

This is a game to reinforce the colours of the rainbow.

Using three or four colours of the rainbow, depending on the numbers in the group and so not more than four girls have the same colour, give each girl a scrap of paper. Give them out in order, say, red, green, yellow, red, green...

The Ladybirds all sit in a circle, facing outwards. When the Leader calls a colour, all the Ladybirds with that colour run around the circle - in the same direction.

If the Leader calls 'Rainbow!' everyone must run around the circle and back to their place.

You can either play so the last Ladybird back in her place is out and turns her chair inwards, or that the first Ladybird back wins a point.
