Creating a paper clip chain in teams

a box of paper-clips
a chair for each team

Instructions

Divide the Ladybirds into two or three teams with a good spread of ages within each.

Put out a chair for each team at one end of the hall. On each chair put an equal number of paper-clips.
The Ladybird teams line up at the other end of the hall. On a given signal, the first girl in each line runs to her team's chair, collects a paper-clip and runs back to give it to the next girl. The first girl then goes to the back of the line. The second girl then runs up with the paper-clip, links it to a second clip, runs back to give it to the third girl and goes to the back of the line.

The activity continues until one team has all its paper-clips linked together in a chain.
