Task
MacGyver, an ingenious man who had many TV adventures, has been captured by the bad guys who have embedded his feet in concrete. The concrete has set and he is unable to pull his feet out. Now he is told that there is a bomb nearby, set to go off in twenty minutes time. The bad guys have left, leaving only useless rubbish within MacGyver’s reach. Can his friends use the rubbish to bring the bomb within reach, so MacGyver can defuse it?

Equipment
- 8 full sheets of newspaper
- one small roll of adhesive tape
- 2m of string
- 4 paper clips
- a balloon to represent the bomb with a fuse tied on (any small object would do)

Instructions

Instructions
The group has 20 minutes to build a device from the useless rubbish and attempt to bring the bomb (balloon) within reach. The ankles of the group member representing MacGyver must be firmly held by another team member to ensure that they do not move. As soon as MacGyver retrieves the bomb, the team unties the fuse and shouts out “Success!”
