Craft a rocket using two paper cups and an elastic band

Resources

Paper cups
Elastic bands
paper
glue
colouring pencils/felt tips
toothpicks/matchsticks

Instructions

Each person gets two paper cups, one as the launcher and one as the rocket.
For the rocket, pierce two holes opposite each other just under the rolled rim of the cup
Feed the elastic band through the holes so that it is stretched across the diameter of the cup rim. secure it using matchsticks/toothpicks on the outside of the cup
Decorate this as your rocket using paper, glue and felt tips. You can add wings and a cone top if you wish.
Decorate your base cup as the rocket fire. It will be placed upside down on the table for launch
When complete, push the rocket cup down onto the base cup. The elastic band should stretch and lunch the top cup when released.
