Cardboard tubes
Stickers/felt tips/ glitter/foil

Blankets/tarps

Instructions

Give each child a cardboard tube.
• Let them decorate it with stickers, foil, or glow tape.
• Explain that it’s their “Starlight Spotter.”
• Practice looking through it and pretending to “find” stars

Real Star Gazing (10–15 mins)
• Lie down on blankets and look at the sky.
• Point out the Moon, bright stars/constellations (if visible).
• Encourage them to spot shapes:
• “Can you find a star that makes a triangle?”
• “Who can see a star that twinkles the most?
