Description

Did you know that in Jamaica, they have a super fun birthday tradition called “antiquing.”? It’s where the guest of honour gets covered in flour, unexpectedly, of course! After the “antiquing” surprise, there’s usually either a planned or surprise party to celebrate the special day.

Here's a relay race based off this Jamaican tradition.

Instructions

Before you start explain to the young people the super fun Jamaican birthday tradition called “antiquing.”

Have the young people work in their six/patrol.
Each young person holds a bowl on their head to catch the flour.
The aim is to get the flour from the front of the line to the back.
The person at the front starts off by tipping all the flour in their bowl to the person behind them. And they continue to pass the flour back until they get to the back and hopefully, fingers crossed they haven't spilled any!
The team with the most flour in the bowl at the end wins.
Alternatively in spirit of the "antiquing" the team with the most flour on themselves wins, except don't tell them this until the end, let them believe they win by transferring the flour.
