Instructions
To make paper fortune cookies:
*Cut 8cm circles from colourful or decorative paper (use a large paper or plastic cup).
*Write fortunes on paper strips (they should be approx 2 cm shorter than the diameter of the cookie circle)
*Then fold the circle in half pinching in the middle, unfold with the fold mark vertical in front of you
*Glue the bottom edge, roll around your finger and stick together to make a rolled cookie shp
*Insert the fortune, and pinch the centre to form the classic cookie shape, often using a dab of glue in the middle to hold the final crease.
The process involves creating a semi-circle, adding the fortune, then pressing the middle to create the distinctive bend, holding it with a little glue for stability.
Tip - make the fortunes fun and maybe some more silly than others. Encourage them to make a few to give to family or friends if you have the time. You could pre-cut the circles if you are short of time. If you can get hold of red paper that would be a great feature to explain the significance to the Beavers.
