Learn about the Fire Triangle using Minecraft.

Instructions

Patrols build three stations, each representing one part of the fire triangle. Use the chat tools in Minecraft to talk to your Patrol and work together to the goal! Maybe delegate a Scout per zone. Leaders will see how well Patrols work as a team.

Tasks:
- Build a “Fuel Zone” using only flammable blocks (wood, wool, hay).
- Build a “Heat Zone” using furnaces, lava (safely contained), campfires.
- Build an “Oxygen Zone” showing airflow (glass tunnels, bubble columns, vents).
- Build (but do not activate) a fire chamber which can be used to demonstrate the fire triangle. This should be an area which you can add or remove fuel blocks, limiting oxygen with blocks to make an airtight chamber and cooling with water. You could demonstrate fire safety by having water buckets to hand to quench a fire if needed.

Time limit: 30 mins

After the time limit, we go through each Patrol's plot. Each Patrol uses the fire chamber to demonstrate how removing each element of the fire triangle stops the fire.
