A brief overview of the activities and knowledge required to progress with the photography badge focusing on a Nikon DSLR

Resources

Smartphones! (Or own cameras)
Nikon DSLR
Tripod
External Flash gun
Torches! (For light painting fun and drawing)
A table of assorted objects to try "still life" photograpy

Instructions

This activity starts with a short knowledge quiz, followed by a Q&A session to go over the answers, before breaking down in to smaller managable groups in order to focus on seperate "set" activites in order to satisfy the requirements. (portrait photos, black and white, colour, editing.. Brightness, contrast, exposure etc)

Each group of scouts is to rotate through each of the Stances in order to allow them to have a go at each subject and complete each section.

For the light painting ideas, a dark end of the building is required. or potentially outside dependant on weather and risk assessments. Scouts can have a go at "painting" the photo instead of using flash, or draw stick people or words in torch light to create their own art.
