This activity aims to explore the interconnectedness of global justice issues.

Instructions

Part 1:

1. In small groups or individually, ask everyone to think of a word for each letter of the alphabet.
2. Explain that each word should be related to global awareness, community, teamwork, justice, advocacy etc. or even an issue they care about.
3. Tell everyone they have two minutes to write as many words as they can. They can write more than one word per letter.
4. When the timer runs out get feedback from the girls for each letter.
5. The group/individual gets one point for each unique answer they have come up with.

Part 2:

1. Compile all of the answers on a large sheet of paper (preferably A2/A3)
2. Taking turns, everyone should draw a line from one word or issue to another they think is connected.
3. Each person should briefly explain why they think those two are connected.
4. Continue with this until you have a "web" that shows how all of these global justice issues are interconnected.

Reflection:

As a group discuss the web you've created together. While looking at it, choose one word/issue that stands out to you and think about where/if you see it:
a) In your personal life?
b) In your local area?
c) At a national level?
d) In a global context?
