Instructions

1. Collect water in bucket
2. Disturb river bed into the net
3. Tip contents of net into bucket
4. Rinse bucket through net
5. Pour contents of bucket into flat tray
6. Move insects into correct labelled section of hexagonal tray following ID guide
7. Discuss how riverfly survey is used to assess water quality and human impacts (e.g. sewage outflows)
