A number of short lengths of rope, 2-4 cricket stumps (depending on number of teams)

Instructions

Teach the Beavers how to tie a reef knot and a sheet bend; then in teams, get them to make quoits (tie their ropes into circles using the knots they learned) and throw them over a stump - if they miss or the knot isn't right, send it back for the next one in their team to have a go. First team to get all their quoits on their stump wins. (Could be played indoors using an up-turned chair/table leg with appropriate supervision)
