Use various items to create percussion instruments

Resources

Paper, card, paper plates, elastic bands, peas, rice, card tubes, plastic cups, pringles tubes, sellotape, scissors, boxes, newspaper, anything really!

Instructions

Talk to the group about what percussion instruments are and what are the key features. Tell them that they have a set time to create their own instruments which they will then use to create a rhythm to perform to the rest of the group. Lay out various items in a pile in the centre the room and allow the boys/girls to be creative and create their own instruments. Alternatively give a few items to each group to start with.
