get the young people to make a light circuit using an AA battery, a 1.5V led bulb and two wires. Alternatively, a lightbulb kit, from most schools

Resources

1.5V LED bulb, AA battery, speaker cable wire, lightbulb holder - optional.

Instructions

attach the light bulb to the wires using insulating tape and make the connection the same way on the AA battery, if it`s done right the light bulb will light up. Before the Beavers do the experiment show them the parts and ask them what they think will happen if they are put together correctly - what will happen if not?
Afterwards ask them was it easy etc? What was the ourtcome? IF additional equipment is available, try using more than one battery, or more bulbs to show how they act differently
