Instructions

Everyone stands in a circle (making sure there is plenty of room behind them) side on to the centre leaning in with inner most arm/hand placed in to the circle in a 'karate chop' manner.

Nominate a person to start.

On the count of three every one jumps back taking up a ninja style pose.

Nominated starting person targets another player and has one single movement to make contact with another participants hand with theirs.

Player must stay in movement end position until next allowed to move e.g. they need to avoid a hit or make a hit.

This movement can include a step, twist or jump to allow them to get to their target as long it is all done as one movement. If contact is successful target is out of the game.

* The scouts.org.uk variation on this game gives players 4 lives: if you successfully tap their arm below the elbow or their lower leg, then that limb is out of the game. A player is out of the game when both of their arms and both of their legs are out.

The selected target is allowed one movement to avoid the attacking shot.

Target must stay in movement end position until next allowed to move e.g. they need to avoid a hit or make a hit.

Continue around the circle in the order of original starting position until only one player left.

If any player falls over during the game whether it is through an offensive/defensive movement, or just losing balance due to stance at end of last movement that player is out.

If defensive player is knocked over, then defensive player may retake position and the attacking player is out.

If playing more than one game on an evening the each subsequent game is started by the winner of the previous game.
