Make a frame incorporating nuts & bolts for Fathers Day

4 x large lolly sticks, paint, paintbrush, glue, a few nuts & bolts, a handwritten note from the child or photo

Instructions

Have child paint the 4 popsicle sticks. We used acrylic paint, but tempera paint would work as well.

After the paint is dry, glue the popsicle sticks into a frame.

Once the frame is dry, have child choose which nuts and/or bolts to use as the frame’s decoration. I would suggest using a small handful, as too many could weigh the frame down.

Have your child glue the nuts and bolts to the frame. I used craft glue, but a hot glue gun would work too.

While waiting for everything to dry, decide what will go inside the frame. Engineer really wanted to write a note to his papa, and I wasn’t going to discourage that!

Glue the note to a piece of cardboard. This will keep the note sturdy

Attach the note to the back of the frame, making sure everything’s centered.

Be sure to write the child’s name and the year on the back of the frame!
