Key Game
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
A game in which children need to pick up the keys without the blindfolded child hearing them.
Can be any item - for Teddy Bear's picnic could be a honey pot.
Resources
blindfold (necker), chair, set of keys or other object
Instructions
Children sit in a circle with a chair in the centre. Under the chair place a set of keys. Choose a child to sit on the chair wearing the blindfold.
Silently choose another child to attempt to steal the keys and return to their space without being heard.
(Works best if they have to creep a whole lap around the outside of the circle once first!)
If the blindfolded child hears them they must point in their direction. If successful they wear the blindfold. As this game requires all children to sit quietly it is best played in short bursts - but you'll need to note whose turn it is to be 'on'!
Can be part of the Disability Awareness badges when you talk about the importance of other senses when you are without one (in this case sight).
