Pencil & paper per team 1 map per team

Instructions

Split Scouts into teams. Give each a copy of the map (face-down). When ready, tell all teams to turn the map over and to commit it to memory. Allow 5 minutes before telling them to turn the maps back again. Collect all of the maps in and hand out pencils and paper. Give them 10 minutes to reproduce the map from memory.

The maps should be of a simple design, NOT OS-style maps. Features of the maps may include: simplistic lines to represent rivers (blue), roads (black), and railways (black “+++++”). See chart below for examples.
