Decorate plain paper with patterns using paint and potato cuts.

Resources

Plain paper, ready mix paint in several colours, paper plates to put the paint on, table coverings, large potatoes (eg. 1 per 2 Cubs), knives

Instructions

A leader cuts potatoes in half and explains how to cut away the edges of potato to make a shape for printing. Cubs mark their shape on their half potato then carefully cut away potato to form the shape. Dip the potato into paint, unload excess on side of plate then make a repeating pattern on paper. Swap potatoes with another Cub to add other patterns and colours to the printing for a nice effect.
