Instructions

Talk to the girls about poetry about what poems they know.

Look at different examples of poetry eg rhymes, haikus, tongue twisters. Explain they are going to write a couple of lines of poetry to read at the end of the night.

Ask the girls to work in small groups to mind map ideas for themes for their poem and then pick their favourite. Move on to mind map different words about their theme and to start to write a couple of lines. Girls can work in pairs or alone depending on what you/they want

At the end of the evening read all the poems aloud and have a good laugh!
