Patrols make their own Wallace and Gromit style animation

1 digital camera and tripod per patrol. 1 computer with the relevant software.

See attached for details of free software for smart phones, maybe let the Scouts bring their phones to Scouts :)

Instructions

Patrols are given digital cameras, tripods and either lego, plastercine or other items to animate. Then they are given 10-15 mins to come up with an idea of what they would like to animate. They then go about taking all the photos they will need for their animation (remember its about 24 frames per second of film). When they are done they then upload to a computer and run through the relevant software and hey presto a short animation is made. Patrols all then come together to watch each others clips. Prior to starting the animation have them make a backdrop for their video.
