Description

Girls are given a challenge to construct a boat to carry a teddy down the burn.

Resources

Plastic Junk (Brownies)
Teddy/pasanger per six
Electrical tape
String
Other ways to fix
Large paper pen/pencils
Video of boats going down rapids
TV to play video
markers to define build areas ie chalk, rope

Instructions

Show girls the video, talk about what they are to do.
Sixes should then go to their build areas.
1 girl must remain in the build area at all times.
They should plan what they are going to build.
Choose from the "junk" in the scrapheap.
Build their boat.

On the next dry night we will take the girls to the local stream, to see which ones can go the furthest.
