Cereal bars (from Guiding magazine)

Resources

50g Margarine (plus extra for greasing)
3 tbsp. Golden syrup
200g Porridge oats
100g Puffed rice cereal
100g Raisins or other dried fruit
50g Chopped nuts
saucepan
wooden spoon
baking tin
knife

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 140C
2. Warm margarine and syrup in a pan, stirring until the margarine has melted.
3. Add the oats, cereal, dried fruit and nuts and stir well
4. Grease the baking tin and pour in the mixture
5. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes and then leave to cool
6. Cut into small squares
