Make paper plate faces with cress hair

Paper plates, marker pens, cotton wool, cress seeds

Instructions

Draw a face on a paper plate. Dampen cotton wool with water and arrange as hair. Sprinkle cress seeds onto the cotton wool.

As part of the Experiment Activity Badge, discuss the activity with the Beavers, eg what do seeds need to grow (water & light), what do they expect to happen, how long they think it will take for the cress to grow. You could have extra cress seeds and deprive one lot of water and another lot of light to compare what happens.
